Among the facilities visited by the Fellows:  Agilent Technologies, Intel, Lockheed Martin Missile and Space Systems, Sandia National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, NASA Ames Research Center, NASA Research Park, Sun Micro Systems, Genentech, the U.S. Geological Survey, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, and the Golden Gate Bridge. 

 

During a half-day, behind-the-scenes visit to the famed Golden Gate Bridge, the Fellows donned safety gear and hard hats to tour the bridge structure, learning about the seismic retrofit project and the extensive attention paid to preserving and maintaining the architectural appearance of bridge finishes.  (Pictured are Fellows Joe Thomas, Weijia Ni, and Pat Gould.)

Two ComSci classes at the same time!  That's what is going on.  Beginning with the 2007-2008 ComSci Class which started its program on September 10, ComSci changed its program schedule to September to June.  During September and October, that creates the unusual situation of having two ComSci classes meet simultaneously.  Along with the calendar change, Thursdays have become the new ComSci meeting day.  For more information about the ComSci calendar, please visit:  http://www.comsci.gov/dates_deadlines.html.
